The Challenge
Tell us about yourself and the nature of your work.
My name is Javier García Montesinos. I am an architect, trainer, and strategic consultant specializing in asset management, BIM, and Facility Management.

We also offer online training programs focused on international standards and professional development for architects, engineers, project managers, and facility management professionals.
“The main thing that stood out to me in Kotobee was the ability to secure my content and manage user access effectively.”
What challenges did you face prior to using Kotobee?
Before Kotobee, we relied mainly on print publishing and traditional digital publishing platforms such as Amazon. These options were very limiting in terms of formatting and didn't give us the flexibility we needed.
We wanted to move beyond static digital editions and create content that could evolve. It was important for us to be able to update the material and have those changes show up instantly for our learners, without them having to download new files every time.
Managing content access was another challenge. We needed a way to control permissions and set specific time limits for how long a learner or client could access the material.
Finally, we wanted to reuse the ebook content inside our elearning platform through SCORM exports, so the same material could support both digital publishing and online training in a more integrated and secure way.
What potential solutions did you explore that didn't work out?
We initially explored Amazon as a publishing option, but it did not offer the level of control, flexibility, or integration we needed.
“Unlike third-party publishing platforms that take a significant cut of the profits while adding very little value, Kotobee allowed us to stay in control of our own business model.”
The Solution
How did you hear about Kotobee?
I discovered Kotobee while searching online for ebook publishing platforms.
What drove you to choose Kotobee?
The main thing that stood out to me in Kotobee was the ability to secure my content and manage user access effectively. I needed the option to choose exactly who could see the content and for how long, rather than risking our work being shared through unsecured platforms.
The integration with e-learning was another huge factor. Being able to export in SCORM format meant I could use the exact same ebook material directly inside our online courses without any extra work.
I also liked that we could keep our revenue for ourselves. Unlike third-party publishing platforms that take a significant cut of the profits while adding very little value, Kotobee allowed us to stay in control of our own business model.
Is there a specific aspect of your ebook that you are particularly proud of?
One of the things I am most proud of is successfully publishing my first digital book project as a three-volume series and registering the books with official ISBNs.
I am also glad that we were able to enhance the learning experience by exporting our training materials in SCORM format instead of relying on PDFs. This made the courses more professional, interactive, and secure for our learners and clients.
“The feedback of our clients and learners has been very positive, especially regarding the quality, organization, and professionalism of the content created using Kotobee.”
The Results
What metrics do you use to measure the success of your decisions? Has Kotobee affected those in any way?
Success for us is all about the quality of the training we offer and the extra value we can bring to our clients. Kotobee has directly helped us expand our services by making interactive ebooks a core part of what we provide.
It has also noticeably raised the standard of our courses. We can now embed ebook chapters directly into our online training modules using SCORM. This approach also solved our security concerns, as we no longer have to send out downloadable PDFs that are easily copied.
Additionally, the feedback of our clients and learners has been very positive, especially regarding the quality, organization, and professionalism of the content.
The Future
What are your plans for the future?
Our goal is to continue increasing the number of publications and further expand our digital training offerings.
